Success StoriesThe Village of Great Neck Plaza has partnered with the Nassau Suffolk School for Autism's Martin C. Barell School. In 2004 the NSSA's Martin C. Barell launched an Adult Services Program to serve the needs of students that reach the age of twenty-one and can no longer be served in their Education Program. Through this program, NSSA is helping to foster the skills that develop greater independence for their clients throughout their lives. Whether through job sampling, or job training, NSSA works to ensure that the adults they serve are still able to grow and develop to their maximum potential. Their primary concern for the adults that they serve is that they continue to grow to their greatest level of independence through employment and skills required of daily living. The intricacies of appropriate behavior in the community are also addressed through the Adult Services Program. On May 25, 2004 the Village of Great Neck Plaza-Justice Court hired Andy Williams. Andy works in the Court once a week and process all of the Department of Motor Vehicle requests for every defendant that has a summons before the Court. Andy is now able to work independently with speed and accuracy. He has become an integral part of the Court's operations and has been a wonderful addition to the staff! We look forward to a long rewarding relationship with Andy and NSSA's Martin C. Barell School.
