Affordable Housing





The Village of Great Neck Plaza is pleased to announce applications are currently being accepted for the remaining Affordable (Workforce) Housing units located at 255 Great Neck Road. At the April 3, 2013 Board of Trustees meeting, the Village Board of Trustees modified several categorical eligibility requirements for the program, expanding the number of applicants who would now be eligible as a result of the modifications.  Persons who have not yet submitted an application may now do so.  Units are available to single persons or families that meet certain categorical and financial eligibility guidelines, as well as the standards applicable to other tenants in the building, including credit standards. Some of these units are in the process of being leased, but some are still available. If you are determined to be eligible, a lease for one or two years will be offered, which you will be     required to sign promptly after it is offered.  Rent for an  affordable unit will be established at 30% of the combined annual gross income of all persons in the household.

An application packet may be picked up in person at Village Hall (2 Gussack Plaza) or may be downloaded from the Village's website from the above link. An application fee of $125 (non-refundable) is required at the time of submission for background and credit searches. The Village website also includes typical floor plans of the affordable units. 

Applications received will be reviewed at the end of each calendar month and will be randomly ranked for selection purposes.
