Snowstorm Parking Regulations

Effective Monday, 2/1/16, all street cleaning rules are in full effect! Please be sure to observe all alternate side of the street parking regulations as they are in effect for the purpose of snow removal.

Parking meters will be back in effect Monday, 1/25/16.

The Village allowed parking in the Village’s two municipal garages at Plaza Centre and Maple Drive, provided you have a VGNP resident sticker or a VGNP Garage quarterly permit After 5:00 p.m. on Friday, 1/22/16 until Tuesday, 1/26/16. Please be advised that unless you have a quarterly garage parking permit, you will have to remove your vehicle from the municipal garages by 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, 1/26/16.

Property owners are responsible for snow and ice removal from adjoining sidewalks. Under Village code, owners or occupants of a property must clear and maintain a 4 foot wide path on their sidewalk and adjacent crosswalks. Clearing of snow and ice must be done within 4 hours after snow has ceased to fall. When removing snow from your property please do not put the snow back into the roadway as this inhibits the Village's efforts to clear the roadway for safe travel. Also, when shoveling your sidewalk of snow or ice, don't forget to clean off any fire hydrant that may be on your property. Fire departments ask that people clear a distance of two feet in each direction, and to do so within four hours after snowfall has ceased. Every second counts in a fire emergency!
